Year 12 formals are just around the corner, and it’s definitely time to start thinking if not buying your formal dream dress. Your year 12 formal may well be your first of many big events in your life.
After years of schooling, you have finally reached the end. Your year 12 formal is a special night to celebrate all your academic achievements, reminisce with your friends, and look forward to the next phase in your young adult life.
We outlined a few points below for you to consider when shopping for your formal dress.
Before you start shopping, make sure you know your school’s dress code for your formal. Nothing’s worse than falling in love with a gown, only to realise it’s against school rules. Not all schools will have a dress code policy, but best to check.
Our stylist are here to ensure you are dressed in the gown of your dreams. This is a big moment in your life, and also mum’s, and it can be an emotional moment, so we are here to make it as special as possible.
It’s a good idea to start shopping early, to allow plenty of options which you can read about below.
We have new gowns in store weekly, ensuring you have an abundant of styles to choose from.
School formal registry – We record your school, dress style and colour, ensuring you are the only one from your school with that style, even if I dress comes in multiple colours, our policy is 1 dress 1 colours. Unfortunately we have no control over what girls buy elsewhere.
Sizes – Our stock sizes range from a 6 – 18, many of our dresses can be made from a size 2 up to a size 30. Additional delivery time and extra costs may incur, so don’t leave it till the last minute.
Colour Changes – So many of our dresses can be customised in other colours. Our chiffon dresses have options of 130 colours, sequin, jersey, crepe, satin and lace styles also have many colour options. Again, additional time will be required, and extra costs may incur, so order in plenty of time.
Layby – we offer in-store layby of 4 weeks. Custom made dresses i.e. colour or size change, the layby period is normally 8 - 12 weeks, which covers the order time frame. If you require extra time on your layby, just advise one of our stylist who will happily accommodate your request.
AfterPay – we offer AfterPay online. You purchase the gown online, it is immediately dispatched to you, and you are required to make x 4 fortnightly repayments, interest free!
Style – You don’t have to expose too much to show your figure off – go for a figure hugging gown to naturally embrace your shape. If a fuller skirt is more your thing, we have princess gowns instore, or go for an A line – that will define your waist without the volume on the bottom.
Bold Colour - A rich bold colour can be just as sexy. Sometimes all you need is a simple, yet well-structured fitted dress, in a bold colour to be all the drama you need.
Bling - Don’t shy away from bling! A few strategically placed embellishments, or a full sequence gown, can have you feeling like your walking to red carpet! A full sequence gown is never too much, sparkle your way through the night.
Lace doesn’t date! - Lace never goes out of fashion, and is defiantly a look you will not regret in a few years when you look back on photos! We offer full lace gowns, half/half, in fitted and A line. You will definitely get the look you want with our lace gowns, from modern to edgy, boho, classic and sexy.
